The Equity and Anti-Racism Strategy committed the Office of Equity and Anti-Racism as the government lead to develop an action plan to address needs identified by the community. The 2SLGBTQIA+ Action Plan was released on January 8, 2026 – it outlines government-wide commitments intended to respond to community-identified priorities as well as an overview of what we heard during engagement.

The Action Plan is an all-of-government effort and was developed based on community feedback and input collected through engagement. Engagement was conducted by OEA and through partnered community-based organizations in 2024. This included an online survey, five virtual sessions led by OEA, and sessions led by organizations that serve and represent the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
